Territories - The 2009 Summer Collection ...Redefining the Horizons of Our Existence.
La Boite a Biscuits and Leonor Mendoza present “Territories,” the summer 2009 collection: Lines and boundaries of new spaces and ever expanding frontiers.

Imagine you’re flying over the earth. Looking down, you see a patchwork of “lots,” or distinct areas of sectioned landscape that contains their own history and their own memories. Each small territory can be viewed on its own or as part of the whole—different spaces and mediums that can exist in multiples places.

The intent of Territories is to connect us with simplicity and essence of our origins. This body of work provides ways for us to find a sense of belonging. Leonor territories that are house shaped, hoe shaped and flower shaped. Each work addresses issues relating to threatened habitats and ecosystems.

With landscape as the context and source of inspiration, the collection expresses the union that comes with using basic forms and respecting natural materials. Each minimally designed piece invites you to consider how we relate and respond to the environment. By merging simple elements, the viewer experiences a collision of unique spatial perspectives that expose the pathways and lines of territories., Each piece invites you to physically explore, using your imagination, the way we relate and respond to the environment. .

The collection consists of five different biscuits, each with a distinct name and presented with its own complementary, collectible art piece by Leonor Mendoza. The biscuits are available individually or as the Territories... Collection, - a tasting of all five biscuits. By acquiring all five Territories boxes, you will be able to walk throug your own personal Leonor Mendoza art show.
